Department Of Transportation Employee Seriously Injured By Hit-Run Driver In Maryland (Updated)

A Montgomery County Department of Transportation employee was struck and seriously injured by a driver while on the job, police say.

Investigators are seeking the public's assistance as they attempt to track down a driver wanted for a "serious hit-and-run" that was reported on Thursday, Oct. 24 in the area of Briggs Chaney Road and Legend Oaks Drive in Silver Spring.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, at around 9:10 a.m. on Oct. 24, officers were called to investigate a reported collision involving a pedestrian and driver who fled the area before they arrived.

The DOT employee was working at the time when he was struck by a 2006 silver Infiniti sedan who left the area on foot.

On Friday, Nov. 1, the department issued a new call asking for the public's assistance as the worker continues to recover from serious injuries at the hospital.
